Terms of Service
Effective October 25, 2026
These terms cover the BetterTG app and its push notification server. By using either, you accept them. "We" means the BetterTG project, made by Lev Poznyakov.
An unofficial client
BetterTG is an independent Telegram client built on the Telegram API. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Telegram. Your use of Telegram through BetterTG is also governed by the Telegram Terms of Service, and your account and its contents remain between you and Telegram.
The source code
BetterTG's source code is available under the GNU General Public License, version 3. Nothing in these terms limits the rights that license gives you.
Using BetterTG
- Use BetterTG lawfully and as Telegram's terms allow. Don't use it to send spam, to harm other people or to break Telegram's rules.
- You are responsible for your account, your devices and what you send.
- Don't attack, overload or misuse the push server, and don't try to reach other people's data through it.
The push server
We run the push server for free and on a best-effort basis. Notifications can arrive late or not at all, and we may change, limit or stop the service at any time. We may block registrations that misuse it. The Privacy Policy explains what the server handles. You can turn it off in Settings → Notifications and Sounds.
No warranty
BetterTG and the push server are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any damages arising from their use, including lost messages, missed notifications or lost data.
Changes
We post changes to these terms on this page with a new effective date. Using BetterTG after a change means you accept the new terms.
